ERWTENSOEP

Pea soup and mashed potatoes with some winter vegetables inside, such as Dutch kale (boerenkool), is the most traditional dish of Dutch cuisine.   

HERRING SANDWICH

It isthe real Amsterdam street snack. There are several stalls along the canals selling these delicacies. The slightly smoked herring is marinated in lemon and served with onion.

STROOPWAFEL

The stroopwafel is a typical Dutch biscuit consisting of two thin wafers between which a type of caramel syrup is spread.
